Photography Project #1

Photographic Perspectives

Photographic Elements
Balance

These photos represent balance.  I chose to explore this element because I liked that these balance photos cover the entire frame.  I approached this element by arranging the shoes and pom-poms so that the frame was completely covered in a spread out, stable manner.  I feel this element added a very organized feel to my pictures.

Emphasis

These photos represent emphasis.  I chose to use emphasis in my photos because I felt it really draws the eye to a particular source of the photo, in this case the shoe.  I approached emphasis by placing the right shoe more in front and the left shoe and pom-poms in back.  I think emphasis really altered my photos in a good way because the shoe's emphasis changes where the eye first looks.

Lighting

The third element I chose was lighting.  I chose lighting because I think it adds another dimension to the photos.  I approached this by casting shadows over the shoes and pom-poms.  I feel that lighting had quite an effect on the photos.  The lighting and shadows more original and added a "sunset"-feel.

Texture

The last element I chose to explore was texture.  I chose texture because I think it is a more "artsy" form of photography and like how different the pictures turn out. I approached this by getting real up close and personal while taking the shots.  Texture affected my image in a drastic way, by seeing the shoes up close one can see lots of detail such as the ridges in the laces or crinkles in the pom-poms.
